The Power of Now is an amazing book by Eckhart Tolle, one that should be on your must-read list. This podcast is by far the most listened to in our ‘collection’, and even though it originally aired almost 2 years ago, it is just as relevant today as we embark on the next 365 days. The way to reach your goals is to first set them, then to live in the present moment with intense focus or present time consciousness to achieve them. No better time than right now to listen to this powerful message!
This is YOUR life. You get to create it exactly as you want it. My father, who passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2003, asked me everyday when he came home from the job he hated to “promise me that you will find a job that you love.” Everyday he asked me to promise that to him. I am so lucky that I followed his advice. I do what I love every day at it makes such a difference! Can you make next year the best year of your life? Here’s how!
The brain is for movement? Most of us believe that the brain is for thinking! But neuroscientist Dr Daniel Wolpert proves that the key function of the brain is to make the body move. Life IS motion! Even our cells have motion…even the atoms in our cells are circling around! Listen as Dr. Rubin explains why.
Are you just trying out life? Just putting your big toes in the water to see if it’s warm enough? Or do you jump in, do a ‘cannonball’, and as Dr. Dick Santo was fond of saying, ‘go all in?’ During this holiday season, it is time to create your goals for next year and get ready to go all in to the new year, full throttle, all systems go!
Neurodiversity is the belief that we should be accepting of all kinds of neurological functioning. ADHD, Autism, LD, SPD; these children are not DIS-abled but Differently-abled! Shouldn’t we help grow our children’s confidence, no matter what label they happen to be given? Who knows if your child is the next Temple Grandin (who has Autism), Michael Phelps (who had ADHD as a child), or Stephen Speilberg (who has dyslexia). Maybe their differences MADE them who they were?
How do you decide things in your relationship? How about a 3 tier hierarchy for everything you do, in order to ‘pass the test?’ That’s what Drs Drew and Lisa have done for years that they credit as one of the pillars of their 27+ year relationship. Listen in on what they call the “GFC Philosophy.”
Sometimes the poets just say it better than the average written word. Dr Rubin features Anyway, by Mother Teresa, and The Cookie Thief, by Valerie Cox, and then offers poignant interpretation to the deeper meaning and lessons he gained from their inspiration.
We look at developmental milestones as a very specific tool to measure the progress of a child’s maturation progress. Just the same way a computer turns on in a very specific manner, and the time it takes to turn on is usually within a few seconds each time, the same is true with milestones. Dr Rubin gives an extended talk about the importance of this tool and asks everyone to participate.
